David August’s Reminiscence Of A Jewel marks a bold move beyond the introspective sonics of his previous works, and further evolves his own definition of complex, challenging dance music.

Standing out with its rich sound design and intricate production style, August creates a dense interplay between dramatic and uplifting spaces, with distinct movements and minute details that a careful ear could miss, but an attentive one is rewarded by. Granular synthesis morphs into choral tones, and disparate drums assemble themselves to create trance spaces.

Progressive in all senses, Reminiscence Of A Jewel further opens the stylistic scope of 99CHANTS, while maintaining the personal feelings that imbue each release, and marks yet another evolution for August.
